The plan's asset register has this row: "Settlement Residential Blackheath - East Division Blackheath Blackheath Almost certain Catastrophic Extreme 1A". Read with the register's columns, its likelihood is rated Almost certain, its consequence Catastrophic, its risk Extreme and its priority 1A. The row is from Appendix 3, the asset register, of the Blue Mountains Bush Fire Management Committee's Bush Fire Risk Management Plan 2016, as the NSW Rural Fire Service publishes it, read on 31 October 2026. A newer draft plan went to consultation in 2025 and has not been read. The row rates a settlement area in a plan dated 2016, not any house, and it does not say that any particular house needs shutters or has any rating.
The plan gives the area's name, not its boundary, so ask the Council whether a given house is inside it. If you want shutters, tell the provider which windows face the bush.
